Sister Anne Tran, Center Director
Sister Anne Tran has returned to Good Shepherd Center, where she served for 17 years, from 1985 to 2002, as Program Director of the Center’s first shelter, the Languille Emergency Residence, and as Coordinator of the Mobile Outreach Program. From 2002 to 2010, Sister Anne served as Superior General of her religious order, the Lovers of the Holy Cross, whose mission is “…to serve the poor and needy, especially women and children….”
After emigrating from Vietnam to the U.S., from 1975 to 1985, Sister Anne was a case worker and counselor in Santa Clara and New York. She has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California, a BSW from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, and received her RN degree in Vietnam.
Sister Anne brings the Center years of hands-on experience in social work, and a rich history of administrative leadership.
Silvia Monica Gutierrez, Associate Director
Silvia Gutierrez joined Good Shepherd Center in 2009 with 10 years of experience in the social services field. As the Associate Director, she oversees all programs, which include case management for all residents, the emergency shelter, community outreach, two transitional housing programs, a job placement program, and an onsite culinary arts training program. Her fresh perspective and leadership skills help strengthen our core services of shelter, case management and job development.
Prior to joining Good Shepherd Center, Silvia served as the Area Director for PATH (People Assisting The Homeless). At PATH, she oversaw the Regional Homeless Center of Los Angeles and the PATH Mall, a “one-stop” center that offers comprehensive services for the homeless. In addition to her work at PATH, Silvia’s experience includes working with victims of domestic violence, burn survivors and homeless men, women and families. Silvia holds a B.S. in Social Work, and has managed homeless programs throughout Southern California.
Andrea Salazar, Development Director
Andrea Salazar became the Development Director of Good Shepherd Center in November 2011.Andrea comes to us from the Los Angeles Area Council of Boy Scouts of America where she served as the Development Director since 2004. She is a highly creative, results-driven professional with ten years of experience in increasing revenue and support for non-profit organizations.
Andrea has a depth of experience in program and staff management, strategy-setting needs analysis and event development. She has great written and verbal communication skills and strengths in budget management and cost containment.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree, with a business emphasis in Organizational Management and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Greater Los Angeles.
Andrea’s primary responsibility is to ensure that necessary funds are raised to support Good Shepherd’s programs and operations and to meet our annual budget. Her department is responsible for all aspects of fundraising, volunteer management, marketing and communication, and social networking. Her great organizational and communicative skills make her an excellent team member of the executive staff of Good Shepherd Center.
