Drop-in Services- Since 1984, Languille has opened its doors and offered a warm shower, a nutritious meal, clean clothing, laundry facilities and a place to rest for the women living on the streets. Beginning in January 2012, women utilizing our drop-in services now have the opportunity to go through an intake process and receive referrals for housing, health care and other social services. We have taken one more step toward ending the cycle of homelessness.
Food Pantry-Women living on the streets and in emergency shelters often have no resources to purchase food and other essentials. Those living in our shelters often run out of food before the end of the month. One of the rooms at our emergency shelter now serves as a food pantry to provide supplemental food to women and children receiving services through Good Shepherd Center. We are especially in need of proteins (canned tuna, ham, spam, & chicken), coffee, sugar and other baking essentials. We gladly accept refrigerated foods as well. Please call the shelter at (213) 250-5241 to make arrangements to drop off your food donation.
